May Fung

May Fung is a pioneer of video art in Hong Kong, serving as a video artist, filmmaker, administrator, and cross-disciplinary cultural worker. She was the principal of HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity and is the founder of the arts organisation ACO. Since the 1970s, she has been involved in experimental film production, known for her avant-garde style. Later, she co-founded the Phoenix Cine Club and Videotage, one of Asia's first new media art organizations, both of which have had a profound impact on the local artistic landscape. Her works often explore themes of identity, gender rights, and social politics. She has curated exhibitions including the 2001 Microwave International Media Arts Festival and “Digital Enjoyment” at the Macao Museum of Art.
