Ip Yuk Yiu

IP Yuk-Yiu is an artist, art educator and independent curator working at the intersection of cinema, video games and digital art.  His works, ranging from experimental films, live performances and media installations to video games, have been showcased extensively at major international venues, including European Media Art Festival(EMAF), FILE Festival, the Image Festival, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, New York Film Festival, NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC], Transmediale, VideoBrasil and ZKM.  IP has over twenty years of curatorial experience with over 30 curated projects to his credit.  He is the founder of the art.ware project, an independent curatorial initiative focusing on the promotion of new media art in Hong Kong. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.  In recognizing his works, he received the Artist of the Year Award (Media Arts) from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2018 and the Robert Coover Award from the Electronic Literature Organization (ELO) in 2019.
