
Professor Hung Keung is an internationally recognized digital media artist, researcher, scholar, and designer. He studied art in Hong Kong, the UK, Germany, and Switzerland, and has taught art in Denmark. He has also engaged in research projects related to new media art in the United States, Australia, and Canada. Since 1995, he has been dedicated to experimental short films and video creation, as well as research in new media art, Chinese philosophy, and aesthetics. In 2005, he established the IMHK Lab.
He has received numerous international accolades, being the first Chinese artist to win the “Special Mention Interactive CD-ROM Award” at the International New Media Arts Festival in Greece and the “Special Award for New Media” in Croatia. His achievement also include the “Best Ambient Video Award” at the BBC Short Film Festival, the “Best of EMAF” at the European Media Art Festival, and gold medals at both the International Invention Innovation Competition and the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. Professor Hung is also the first artist who received twice the Artist of the Year (Media Art) award from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Furthermore, he has been honored with the Best Artist of the Year Award (Media Art), the Outstanding Young Artist Award (Film and Media Art), and the Achievement Award from the Hong Kong Museum of Art during the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial. His contributions to cultural and artistic development have also been recognized by the Hong Kong Designers Association with a Global Design Award (Digital) and by the Secretary for Home Affairs for his outstanding achievements.
